Reseach interest and major findings

(1) Innovations of assays for hemostasis research.

Developed novel assays that can directly measure thrombin generation (TG) in whole blood samples of human and mice.

(J Thromb Haemost 2020, 18(6): 1291-1301.; Blood Advances 2022, Doi: 10.1182/bloodadvances.2022008720.)

(2) Novel mechanisms of coagulation.

Studied the differential effects of platelets and erythrocytes on different phases of coagulation: the presence of platelets was essential for a fast onset of TG the initiation-amplification phase and propogation phase of thrombin generation.

(J Thromb Haemost 2020, 18(6): 1291-1301.)

The presence of erythrocytes greatly enhanced the sensitivity of TG assays for mice FIX deficiency, suggesting of role of erythrocytes in regulating FIX function.

 (Blood Advances 2022, Doi: 10.1182/bloodadvances.2022008720.)

TG assay results was used as an intermediate phenotype in GWAS study, resulting in the identification of a role of kallikrein on regulating protein C pathway anticoagulant function.

 (J Thromb Haemost 2022, 20(1): 48-57.)
