曾小庆教授

个人简介

2002年本科毕业于武汉大学环境化学系;2007年获中科院化学所物理化学专业博士学位。20072013年先后在加拿大新布伦瑞克大学(The University of New Brunswick)和德国乌帕塔尔大学(Bergische Universitaet Wuppertal)从事博士后研究工作,得到德国洪堡基金会AvH (2008-2010)和德国自然科学基金会DFG (2011-2013)独立项目资助。2013年加盟苏州大学材料与化学化工学部,现任化学院物理化学系特聘教授,博士生导师。2013年入选中组部第五批"青年千人计划"2014年获国家自然科学基金优秀青年基金。

Research Interest

Structural characterization of fundamentally important small molecules (新颖功能小分子的结构与反应)

We are strongly interested in small molecules bearing unusual structural and bonding properties. These small inorganic or organic molecules serve as important model systems for both synthetic chemists and theoreticians. Due to the simplicity in composition, their structure and reactivity might have been extensively explored by advanced quantum chemical calculations. Their spectroscopic and structural properties can be also easily predicted. However, due to the intrinsic metastability, still a large number of parent small molecules remain experimentally unknown. By using sophisticated low-temperature synthetic techniques, we are able to isolate milligram scale of such compounds like polyazides and derivatives for full characterization and potential applications.

Spectroscopic detection of key reactive intermediates (关键反应中间体的光谱探测)

Reactive intermediates, ranging from fleeting molecules to short-livedradicals and ions, have attracted numerous attention, not only because of thegreat challenge to experimentally capture these species, the unknown chemistryand underlying reaction mechanisms have also continuously stimulated largeamount of theoretical studies. Based on our low-temperature synthetic techniques, newly constructed matrix-isolation machine, and specially designed photolysis and pyrolysis instruments, we will focus mainly on four classes ofreactive intermediates: 1) nitrenes and related species which play important roles in synthetic chemistry; 2) small ring systems that may exist ininterstellar medium, 3) prototypical multiple-bonded species as building blocksfor polymer chemistry; 4) atmospherically important key intermediates involvedi n photochemical reactions of organic pollutants.

Reaction mechanism and theory (反应机理与相关理论)

The conclusive identification of key intermediateswill provide valuable information for interpreting underlying reaction mechanism. We seek to understand and update the mechanisms of classical organicrearrangement reactions from both aspects of experiment and theory.

Development of new spectroscopy techniques (发展新光谱探测技术)

New spectroscopy instruments based on low-temperature and laser techniques will be built; they will be utilized for monitoring chemical behavior of trace reactive species in complex systems.
