Overview

Resume:

I am a Professor, Ph.D. Supervisor. Previously earned a Ph.D. from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick campus. Later conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Applied Mathematics at the same university in collaboration with AMS Fellow Professor Benedetto Piccoli. Additionally, holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to returning to China, served as an Associate Research Professor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Research Institute (UTCRI). As an Investigator/Co-PI, participated in and led grant support from the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) flagship projects, with a total amount of $8 million.


Has cumulatively published over 30 high-level academic papers in leading journals and top-tier conferences. Among these, representative works have been published in top journals in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), including Transportation Research Part B/C, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Vehicles, as well as the top journal in the field of civil construction informatization, Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering (CACAIE). Some research results have also been published in the traditional prestigious journal of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Journal of Transportation Engineering, Part A: Systems, and the Transportation Research Board journal Transportation Research Record (TRR).


In addition, has been granted 4 US patents and 2 Chinese patents regarding the design of integrated vehicle-infrastructure-cloud systems and methods. Furthermore, a patent regarding the use of drones for 3D scene reconstruction has been successfully incubated into a startup company.

Research Field:

1. Intelligent Perception & Sensing: Application of Computer Vision, LiDAR, and drone-based remote sensing to collect high-resolution data to enable transportation research and innovations.

2. Smart Roadside Infrastructure:Connected Infrastructure Networks, Arterial Management Systems, and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Communication.

3. AI-Driven Decision Making: Traffic Flow Simulation & Modeling, Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) Control, Intelligent traffic optimization.
