王国燕博士，苏州大学科技传播研究中心主任，数字传播系主任，传媒学院特聘教授、博导。国家社科基金重大课题首席专家，PCST世界科技传播学会学术委员，江苏省首席科技传播专家，江苏省“青蓝工程”中青年学术带头人，东吴智库研究员，兼任江苏省高校社科传播与应用基地主任，（中英美澳）科技传播国际联合实验室主任，中国科协国家科技传播中心-苏州大学联合科技传播研究基地主任。
本硕博均毕业于中国科学技术大学，曾赴英国剑桥大学、曼彻斯特大学、澳大利亚国立大学、韩国首尔大学访学。研究呈现出两大特色：科学传播和技术驱动的新方法，擅长于从视觉文化和大数据的角度来审视科学与社会的关系，并擅长于技术方法创新。主持国家社科及国家自科基金共5项（1项重大，1项重点）、韩国高等研究基金等，发表中英文核心期刊论文70余篇，包括在Science Communication, New Media & Society,Public Understanding of Science,Information Communication & Society, Science as Culture, Science & Education, Journal of Informetrics, Leonardo等国际权威期刊发表18篇SSCI/A&HCI论文。撰写多篇决策专报被中央部委采纳批示。协助诺贝尔奖获得者、两院院士等科学家的130余项CNS前沿成果论文设计Nature, Science, Cell期刊封面图及新闻宣传图，并登上中央电视台CCTV演讲“前沿科学的可视化艺术”。
担任PCST世界科技传播学会学术委员，还担任 4 个科技传播相关专委会的副主任和理事，4次担任国际科技传播会议主席或分论坛主席，多次被邀请在国际学术平台上做特邀报告。此担任科技传播领域 TOP 期刊 Public Understanding of Science 的编委，并创办“科技传播研究汇”公众号，持续编译《科技传播前沿简报》促进中国科技传播学界的国际视野与交流。
Dr. Wang Guoyan, Director of the Science Communication Research Center and Head of the Digital Communication Department at Soochow University, holds a distinguished professorship in the School of Communication. She is the Chief Expert of a major National Social Science Fund project, a member of the scientific committee of the PCST (Public Communication of Science and Technology) global network, the leading expert in science communication in Jiangsu Province, an academic leader in Jiangsu’s “Qinglan Project,” a researcher at the Dongwu Think Tank, and concurrently serves as the Director of the Social Science Communication and Application Base for Jiangsu Universities, Director of the (China-UK-US-Australia) International Joint Laboratory for Science Communication, and Director of the National Science Communication Center of China Association for Science and Technology - Soochow University Joint Research Base on Science Communication.
Dr. Wang completed her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees at the University of Science and Technology of China and has conducted research visits at the University of Cambridge, the University of Manchester, the Australian National University, and Seoul National University. Her research is characterized by two main features: science communication and technology-driven new methods, specializing in examining the relationship between science and society from the perspectives of visual culture and big data, and excelling in technological method innovation. She has led 5 national projects funded by the National Social Science Fund and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (including one major project and one key project), and other grants such as the Korean Advanced Research Fund. She has published over 70 papers in core Chinese and English journals, including 18 SSCI/A&HCI papers in prestigious international journals such as Science Communication, New Media & Society, Public Understanding of Science, Information Communication & Society, Science as Culture, Science & Education, Journal of Informetrics, and Leonardo. Several of her policy reports have been adopted and instructed by central ministries. She has assisted Nobel laureates and academicians in designing cover images and publicity graphics for over 130 CNS frontier research papers published in Nature, Science, and Cell, and has appeared on CCTV to discuss “The Visual Art of Frontier Science.”
Dr. Wang serves as an editorial board member of the top journal Public Understanding of Science, and founded the “Science Communication Research Collection” WeChat public account, continuously translating the “Science Communication Frontline Briefing” to promote the international perspective and exchange of the Chinese science communication academic community.
