主要从事新型核酸分子(circRNA、eccDNAs)形成和分子机制,病毒与宿主分子互作、生物工厂设计,基于基因组编辑的分子聚合育种等研究。
2005年来,主持国家自然科学基金8项、主持国家重大研发项目子课题1项,国家“973”计划子课题1项、国家“863”计划子课题1项、省部级课题21项;以通讯作者发表SCI论文125余篇,以第一发明人获国家发明专利23项,主编教材3部,著书7部,获省部级二等奖2项(排名1)、三等奖1项(排名1);培养博士研究生18人、硕士研究生65人、农业推广硕士研究生15人、教育学硕士研究生7人。
